How to chose an artist, how to spot cross contamination, knowing what questions to ask to ensure a healthy beautiful tattoo

Every day I see it. Horribly done tattoos on women. Some are done as if done by a 3 year old with a sharpie marker, some are too heavy, too manly, and others are placed incorrectly.  I get so angry that some dumb ass just gave a beautiful woman a tattoo that she now wants to hide. Don’t we already have too many things about ourselves that we want to hide or divert attention from? Now she has to deal with one more thing that is wrong with her body that is permanent. And could have been prevented.

Being a woman is being beautiful. I know what is “hot” on a woman is completely subjective; it’s like asking who’s hotter Angelina Jolie or Uma Thurman? Unfortunately in the tattoo world you don’t really get to see truly feminine tattoo designs when you walk into a studio and then even if you do find something ok the artist doesn’t want to redraw it for you so it is custom.

Tattoos on women should flow. They should beautify, they should get lingering gazes from people who pass.  Too many times I see a tattoo, especially on the breast that just sits there.  Now we have all seen (or have) the rose bud or butterfly on the boob.  It looks like someone flicked it there without much thought to the shape of the breast.  Now all it needs is a little help to give it flow.

That is where Girl Tats comes in.  My name is Kelly Ojstersek (try to pronounce that one!) and I have been a professional tattoo artist for 8 years.  Over time each artist develops his/her own style and that style is what clientele you get.  I realized a couple years ago that the pieces I tattooed on my female clients, my Girls I call them, were very different from women tattooed elsewhere. I also realized my female to male ratio of clients was starting to shift. More and more women were getting their first tattoos from me mainly because they had seen “the most amazing tattoo on this woman at the grocery store” and wanted to get tattooed by the same artist.  Every day I tattoo new clients and every day I see a tattoo I WISH I had been allowed to do instead of looking at it trying to figure out how to fix it.

Girl Tats was written for you.  I cannot tattoo and draw for everyone but I can help you to get the feminine tattoo you have always wanted.  But I don’t know how to draw you say.  Ok, fair enough.  I do know you can cut and paste.   I have done all the drawings.  Now you go though the designs and you chose pieces and parts and put them together how you want them.  Girl Tats teaches you about positioning, shadowing, color choices plus how to choose an artist, how to spot cross contamination and what questions to ask to ensure you get the tattoo you want.  Girl Tats will help you get the best tattoo ever, whether it is your first or your 24th!

I want you to see how easy it is. You can view pages from the book.  Text pages will run through the table of contents and then some chapter excerpts.  Black and white line drawings along with color plates are provide so you can draw your first tattoo!  Cover ups can come out good or bad depending on who does the work.  See some cover-ups I have done and maybe it will give you ideas on how to cover that one you need to cover!

I know you now see the difference. There aren’t tattoo designs like these on any tattoo shop wall.  No one you know has a tattoo like the one you just drew. And it was so simple and so inspiring!  There are only two things you need to get started.  First visit our secure server and order your Girl Tats CD today.  Then while you wait impatiently for it to show up download a copy of the free Adobe Reader 7.0 so when the disk shows up you are ready to start.
